The apple of every Indian athlete’s eye, the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai has been the preferred venue for a number of legendary Cricket matches between 1956 and 1965 as well as the World Volleyball Grand Pix tournament in the year 1998. The stadium is located at Sydenham’s Road, a stone’s throw from the Chennai suburban railway station, behind the Ripon Building. It also continues to host prominent football, basketball, and table tennis matches.

The arena was prodigiously constructed to accommodate around 40,000 people, with an indoor capacity of 5000 people. The complex is sectioned into various courts and fields for respective games. The architecture of the indoor stadium has facilities that render it suitable for the organization of other events such as concerts and functions.
